The Iwate Office of Rivers and National Highways Department of Construction is undertaking road construction work of Routes 4 and 46 in IwatePrefecture. Four National Highway Maintenance Branch Offices share road maintenance work. One branch office is in charge of constructing bypasses and widening existing roads.
Each branch office is responsible for one area along the KitakamiRiver.
